Candidates Forum between California State Senator Mark Ridley-Thomas and Councilman Bernard Parks to replace retiring LA County Supervisor Yvonne Burke in the 2nd District. L.A. County's Second District includes the cities of Inglewood, Hawthorne, Lawndale, Carson, Lynwood, Compton, Culver City, portions of Los Angeles and unincorporated sections of south and southwest Los Angeles County. With looming Federal and State health care cuts, and the proposed transition of County clinics, LA County's health care system is bound for transformation. This year's Summit will explore LA's changing health policy landscape and the fixes needed for our health care system to survive and flourish. REGISTRATION REQUIRED.

10am-1:30pm. The CKF Coalition is a national initiative to reduce the number of uninsured children and adults eligible for public healthcare coverage but not currently enrolled. The Work Group is open to all residents living in the area around the Baldwin Hills oil fields and Kenneth Hahn Park and will directly impact the future of oil drilling. 9-11:30am. LA Access works to increase enrollment in public and private health coverage programs and advocate for the expansion of health coverage options for underserved, uninsured residents in Los Angeles County.

9:30-11:30am. The Disparities in Healthcare Advisory Committee is working to develop effective solutions to improve access and quality of care in the diagnosis, treatment and management of CVD and diabetes. The Committee meets on the 3rd Tuesday of every other month.
