Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development
Information on all licensed hospitals, clinics, nursing facilities, healthcare professionals, etc. All data are free and downloadable from the website; they do take individual requests. Online data only go back 5-7 years, older data is available by request. Lowest geographic area: Zipcodes
California Department of Finance
tracks economic (business and financial data) for the entire state.
Includes employment, income, price index, trade, and some demographics.
They take individual requests for data but may charge for it. Lowest
geographic area: City level. Zipcodes are possible but may have to pay.

Provides data sources, reports and statistics for DHCS programs including Medi-Cal.
California Department of Public Health
Vital Statistics Query System Provides an interface to obtain tabular summaries and statistical reports from California's birth and death vitial statistics database.
California Women's Health Survey is an annually conducted
survey about women's health and serves as a catalyst for innovative solutions
that impact the health of California's women and girls.

California Health Interview Survey
Data on health status, health conditions, health-related behavior, access and insurance status. Free, but must sign up for a username and password. Users can do specific searches by population, geographic area, age, etc. Lowest geographic area: Service Planning Areas.
Los Angeles County Health Survey
A population-based telephone survey that provides information about the health of Los Angeles County residents. The relatively large sample size allows users to obtain health indicator data for large demographic subgroups and across geographic regions of LA County, including Service Planning Areas and Health Districts. Data tables are available for most topic areas. Individual requests can be made to Health Assessment staff. Lowest geographic area: County and Service Planning Area (SPA). Zipcode level data may be requested.

The City of Los Angeles developed iMapLA to provide easy access and a visual display of City information and services as well as access to information from other sources.
